The goal of an internal investigation is to find out what happened so that a company can determine how to fix problems and move forward. In this final part of the Anti-Corruption Report’s guide to internal investigation interviews, we explore the best ways to encourage witnesses to tell the full and frank story. The first part discussed how to prepare for an interview and the second looked at the initial cautions and decisions that set the tone for the rest of the interview. Here we tackle how to elicit narratives, use documents, create a record of the interview and, finally, adjust an interview strategy to the pandemic.
